Doubts, fears, shame, guilt… in small doses, these can keep us humble. In large doses, the keep us confined. Eventually, almost everyone who has anxiety feels trapped by their own fear.
It may not seem like it now, but it has been proven that with the right help, we can choose to leave this trap rather than giving in, and in time, we will learn to cope. I have many years of working with people with anxiety in both individual and group formats and am happy to have been witness to many stories of recovery.
